  11. Hack is a display oriented dungeons & dragons - like game.
  12. Both display and command structure resemble rogue.

  14. Hack was originally written by Jay Fenlason (at lincolnsudbury :-
  15.     
  16.     29 East St., Sudbury Mass., 01776) with help from
  17.      Kenny Woodland, Mike Thome and Jon Payne.

  19. Basically it was an implementation of Rogue, however, with 52+ instead of 26
  20. monster types. The current version is more than thrice as large (with such 
  21. new features as the dog, the long worms, the shops, etc.) and almost entirely 
  22. rewritten (only the display routines are the original ones - I must rewrite 
  23. these too one day; especially when you are blind strange things still happen).

  30. The version of Hack has only been modified to run under WinOne. I did not write 
  31. the original or claim to have anything to do with the original, I simple 
  32. modified the source code to be able to play hack under WinOne. WinOne is a 
  33. Command Shell for Windows 3.1, and you will need it to run hack. WinOne can be 
  34. found in the archive W_ONE49.ZIP. This game is completely free and the source 
  35. code is obtainable on request.
